UK Labour’s re-election campaign is in complete disarray after Gordon Brown was caught calling a pensioner who had questioned him about immigration a bigot, moments after exchanging pleasantries with her.
This fascinating election campaign just became even more compelling.
Former (Labour) Deputy PM John Prescott has, quite astonishingly, blamed the incident on Murdoch/News Limited. You can read what he had to say here:

I’m not sure whether I agree that, as Prescott suggests, Murdoch’s empire is “dying”, but it seems quite clear now that at least one empire is in very serious trouble. Brown’s Labour Party appear to be hurtling towards a complete pantsing at the polls in a couple of weeks.
It is very difficult to see how Labour can recover.
But having said that, who can possibly predict what will happen in this election?
Labour’s vote now appears certain to collapse. But it is unclear whether the race is now between two horses, the Conservatives and the Lib Dems, just yet.
Perhaps the real story will be poor voter turnout, the public being so disgusted with the entire political process that the real winner/message will be ‘fuck-the-lot-of-you’.
Such a result does not bode well for the fortunes of the eventual winner, with low turnout permanently scarring the legitimacy of the government.
Fascinating. A hung parliament? A Lib Dem PM? And can the Tories really snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?
